Rosacea

What It Is

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition involving inflammation of the cheeks, nose, chin, forehead, or eyelids. Rosacea of the skin can be vascular or inflammatory, appearing as redness, prominent blood vessels, swelling, or skin breakouts, similar to acne. Rosacea can also affect the eyes, causing the redness, burning or itching of the eyes. Weather, stress, spicy foods, alcohol, and sun exposure are all common factors that can trigger a flare up of rosacea.
