Dr. Charlotte Smith Hand, MD

Dr. Charlotte Smith Hand is a board-certified dermatologist focusing on skin cancer prevention and detection as well as general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
A native of Wadley, Georgia, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Georgia, where she graduated summa cum laude. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon and Columbus, Georgia where she founded the Dermatology Specialty Interest Group. Dr. Hand graduated with honors from her medical school class and was an inductee of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
 

She completed one year of internal medicine and three years of dermatology residency training at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta during which she spoke at several regional and national conferences including the American Academy of Dermatology and the Georgia Congress of Clinical Dermatology. She has been published several times in national dermatology literature. Dr. Hand is trained in both adult and pediatric medical and surgical dermatology, and she stays up-to-date on the latest techniques and treatment options available for her patients through continuing medical education. Her interests include skin cancer prevention, diagnosis and surgical removal of skin cancer, rashes, acne, and cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Hand loves spending time with her husband and college sweetheart, Carson, and their cockapoo, Winnie. They enjoy spending any free time with family and friends on the lake, traveling to new places, and cheering on the Dawgs in Athens on fall Saturdays.  Dr. Hand is excited to serve the CSRA community, the place she calls home, and continue pursuing her passion for dermatology and patient care.

Amanda Alexander, FNP-C

Amanda is an Augusta native and currently resides there with her husband and son. With a decade of nursing experience, she has had the privilege of working in both dermatology and critical care. Amanda completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Augusta State University, and recently obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from Georgia Southern University. As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, she is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to individuals and families. 
Amanda is passionate about dermatology, as she is given the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives through the diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of skin conditions, ranging from chronic ailments to acute concerns. Additionally, she finds fulfillment in promoting preventive measures and educating patients about proper skincare routines to maintain healthy skin.
