Acne

More than 90 percent of American teenagers and young adults deal with acne. Acne is a common skin condition that develops when hair follicles become clogged with dead skin cells and oil and inflammation occurs due to the bacteria P. acnes. The face, upper back, and chest are among the most common areas where acne occurs. You can experience one or a combination of these types of acne – blackheads, whiteheads, papules, pustules, cysts and nodules. Some types of acne can lead to scarring. It is important to keep the skin clean and free of any excess bacteria and perspiration, which can lead to a breakout or acne flare.
