What is Botox®?

Botox is an FDA-approved injectable used to improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines. Repeated facial muscle contractions can cause lines and wrinkles to become present and are more significant as we age. Botox works to relax the muscle movement of the muscle injected. Therefore, when you smile, frown, squint, or raise your eyebrows by contracting the facial muscles, Botox temporarily reduces the muscle movement, allowing the lines to soften and become less noticeable.
